Yesterday me and my roomate took a couple girls for a ride. We went up 33 to skyline, took skyline to 211 then 81 back to school. We had an amazing time and great ride. Saw lots of wildlife, deer and a bear which thrilled the girls
Heres a few pictures.
On the way down we had a VERY close call... We were behind a big pickup truck who was going slow and there was an unfortunate chain of events. Me impatiently following to close, checking my mirror and bad luck. Well I looked back to see the truck slammed on his brakes and turning into a turn off on the left side. I instantly slammed on the brakes and was downshifting we slid the front tire and according to dan we were wobbling real bad. We missed him by about 2 feet and i pulled over shaking... The girl was fine she wasnt even scared but i had the shakes the rest of the night.
Just remember to pay attention guys, and I am very lucky, i think a year ago or 10,000 miles ago I would have ploughed into the back of the truck.
nice photos glad to hear you used your new skills for stopping! Good thing your ok!, she's rather cute and I am sure her father would never agree to the next date if you got her in a hospital on the first one.
Glad you're okay.
Gotta leave plenty of following distance when you're riding 2-up, your braking distance increases considerably & you never know how the passenger will react.
1st of all you little punk...Stop following so close...You could get hurt! Seriously though, glad thats all it was. Take it and learn from it.
2nd...You stink Your not allowed to ride such beautiful area without your Va Beach friends, period! Understood
ditto especially about stinking
Happy to see you learn from an experience with relatively low consequences.
Some are not so lucky.
Riding space is free, use all you like no extra charge.
We all have been there.

Perhaps your near-miss will inspire you to gear those two lovely ladies up a little more next time you ride? They might not know better but I'm sure you and your buddy do....
