Potholes and helping fellow riders......

Hello all fellow riders. I almost had a "get off" the other day by a stealth pot hole. If I would have hit it my front tire would have gone down in it at least to the rim. And then last night, I was on my way into work coming to my intersection to make a right turn, and just as I got in the lane, presto, a young buck (deer, 6 pointer) was laying across the entire lane. I was able to get aroud it with no issue. When I got home I googled "how to report a pot hole" and every state has a link via DOT, to report a pot hole. So I was thinking , if we reported a pot hole that we come across, we could help prevent a fellow rider taking a fall. And if enough people report it, I'm pretty suere that it would be move up on the DOT priority list fairly quickly. Anyone have a input about it?

Cheers
Ron

It can't hurt, rob.

Glad your rider acumen brought you home safe twice.

Yeah good idea, I have never even thought about being able to report one.

I've done it many times around here. The mayor has a "pothole report" line, and I must say the city responds quickly when they are reported.

Even though my state supposedly has money...and one of the few who does i might add...the reason is we never fix shit. And when we do fix shit, its tore down 3 years later because they either didnt plan for it and its now used too much and broke to shit, or they fixed the shit like shit.

They say fargo hires the best engineers from Chicago and minneapolis.

Why not hire my grandpa. He fixed shit that never broke again....and if it did break again, he switched brands

I just felt like cussin a bit this morning. And my phones spell check tried to fix every instance of shit to suit or shot....piece of shit....ha! Happy sunday everyone.

Forget the potholes, does your state tar and chip the roads? it sucks, big time and is dangerous to motorcycles, nothing like going 50mph down a road and it turning to loose gravel.

Here the pot hole has to have been reported once or twice and then after that the town or county will pay damages caused by the hole.
Last season , did a side slide when comming out of a turn merging left I ran over F'in GLASS BEADS that were spread on the road over glue at a yield sign !! They just let the traffic blow off the excess beads !!
I would like to personally meet the Einstein that had to get a degree in enginering to figure the most dangerous way to mark a road. Bet you he dosn't ride.

+1! I've had a few "pucker" moments from tar & chip roads with no posting that it had been done.
