Exactly! I want to see them run that thing from idle to redline and see how it acts/sounds.

The looks bring me back to the 70's. Good looking retro. I don't know how well it would do here, but you'd think Honda would take a chance now or then instead of betting on that POS DN01.

I would of bought the prototype deep red one.

This version is a true parts bin special, I do not like the cradle frame, it looks like a de-sleeved and stroked CB1300 engine with a air cooled upper end added.

I'm ticked, to say the least.

Unless it is dirt cheap, it's not going to sell.

Not a fan... If I wanted an "old" bike, I would buy an old bike. For what they will attempt to sell this for, I am sure one could drop another $4K and have a true "retro" rocket that includes a real suspension...brakes...exhaust...wheels & other hardware and comes with or without the "cafe" look from the factory (see ducati, trimuph, et al). By the time you're done making the adjustments to this, you'll endup with a very expensive, old bike that lacks the hardware found on other sleds...

Honda... Here's an idea... YOU give US all the bikes you give the rest of the world, and give the rest of the world the crap you give us. Before long the lawn mower business will take on a whole new light.

I'm thinking that gauge cluster would be a nice upgrade for the 9er! Looks to carry the same shape and mount system.... so I see a possible quality upgrade out of this.

If you close your eyes when watching that, and just listen to the motor sounds from the onboard bits, i picture nothing but Focke Wulfs and Spitfires.

Probably no way an air cooled 1100cc inline 4 would ever pass sound restrictions in the US. Just too much engine noise.

Yes,

If you want to blame someone for our not getting the coolest bikes & cars, blame "your" government.

But, I agree with those who said it's a little too retro. I'd like to see Honda's answer to the FZ1.

In the meantime, I'll "make do" with my 919.

how is our government responsible for Honda's market decisions? I guess they could always threaten to bomb the crap out of Japan again. BTW, Europe won't see this bike as well

WTF - need I say HARLEY DAVIDSON, or do they get special compensation in the USA?

You won't get it because the US has a long history of saying 'oh oh we want it' but when it arrives ..... sales are shit.

A 'nice' looking retro, but IMO it's, well, boring ..... as stated above you could get a real retro for a fraction of the price and spend a few grand uprgading suspension etc to make it unique.

You guys should tell your Honda dealers you want the 100R - that's a cool modern naked
