understandable.... so get rid of the heep... i mean jeep. :P
Jeep's are addicting too... i had a 1979 CJ5 w/ the 4.2L inline 6, team rush ignition mod w/ the wide ratio 4 spd... that first gear was so low i hardly used it, but damn did it come in handy on the trail.
Sold the jeep n bought the 919.

I miss my old CB750, but it sure is nice not owing anything to the credit card companies. And you can always get another. They made scads of the things. Still, good luck. A good friend is always hard to part with.

Hey, they don't know how much we pay for insurance up here!! It's nothing like down in the states where it's relatively cheap to keep multiple vehicles insured.

In Ontario an experienced, adult rider typically pays between $800-1200 a year. I assume it's similar in BC. New riders on sport bikes are several thousand dollars per year.

It cost me about $240 for basic insurance last year. I have many speeding tickets but am 41 years old. I just don't see the point in having full coverage on my '02 9'er. Actually when I got her in '03 I only put on PLPD as well. They wanted $1600 for collision alone. No way I was going to spend almost $2000 a year for insurance.

118/yr for basic liability coverage here on the 919..... 22 yrs old.... a single 2 pt offense (burnout in my truck) .. that ticket sucked.
for full coverage its not worth it IMO on a bike that i MIGHT be able to sell for 3500 bucks.... as ins would have to be around 900-1k a year... i figure if the bike gets damaged its going to be my fault and my fault alone, no one else will be involved as it will likely be a lowside on some twisty road.

$440 full coverage for the year, including up to $5,000 in accessories on top of the value of the bike. saved me twice already. since i just got married, i'm hoping my rate drops lower.

Good lord, I pay about 350 for my 919 and my wife's 929. Full coverage through Progressive here in Va, and thankfully my rates haven't gone up (yet!) from the ticket I got in Feb. I renewed a month after the ticket and the rates didn't jump, so I'm hoping they've given me a mulligan on that one. The cars are similarly cheap through USAA which is nice. I think the only real reason I was able to convince my wife I needed a bike was by showing her that the savings were enormous once I started using the bike as my commuter. I feel for you guys up in Ca, those rates are brutal!

300 for Full Coverage, 22 yrs old, clean record last 3 years (2 minor wrecks and 4 tickets prior)
When I asked what insurance was for it he said $25 a month, I said "OK, well what about for full coverage" and he replied "That is full coverage" My jaw dropped as a year and a half prior I was paying $45 bucks a month for my 2003 Shadow, I was sure I'd have seen a substantial increase.
