'69 Pontiac

Other members have requested pics of my new "to me" car. It's a '69
Pontiac Grand Prix, hopefully it's Ok to talk cars on WT?

It has a 428ci, 7 ltrs for metric guys, V8 engine with a turbo400
3 speed transmission. Vinyl top was removed and wider tires
were installed for a more aggressive muscle car look.

Plans for the winter are to make sure it runs perfectly, fix the noisy
exhaust, replace the coil springs on the rear suspension and replace
the engine driven fan by electric fans.

Since I was a kid I always wanted a fast car. I'll drive it for a while
and if I don't like it I can always sell it. Don't worry, I'm not selling
the 919

Very nice. I too have been bitten by the old car bug. My friend Pat just got an '83 Mustang GT, totally roached, so he's going to put a stroked 351 Windsor in it and drag race the thing. I'm looking at a 944 Porsche or my friend Niko has a '63 Galaxie 500 for sale. Too much stuff and not enough time. Congrats on the Pontiac!

Great find. Looks like a cool project and already in pretty good shape. Good luck with it.

Nice! I would remove the 428 decal from it. Keep it a sleeper car. I've never heard of a 428 Pontiac. What is it? stroked?

Wow that thing looks great! For sure you need header and a loppy cam to give it that muscle car sounds.

Ods are it won't be fast. But it will be great for cruising and showing off a bit by buring rubber. Those 428 engines never really caught on since thier was a 455 available for the spead freaks. For sure they make some good power and its a good conversation piece as alot of guys don't know about them.

My car has the 428 XF code, 370 hp automatic. Too bad it's not
the 428 HO. http://www.users.fast.net/~blazer/engdat1.htm

It's got headers already, as for a cam I'm not sure. The PO told
me it does but he had no paperwork to back it up.
