Every year I find myself pushing my "good" textile gear farther into summer and donning the mesh less often. My Olympia Stealth onesie is so convenient for summer commutes and it does have Cordura around the mesh panels and in impact areas but I know the ripstop Cordura and Sas Tec armor in my REVIT gear are better and I feel safer.
Thanks for posting this video (I was about to post it).
My first two jackets ages ago were textile and mesh. Textile has come a long way - my touring jacket is textile, that weighs almost as much as my leather.
The video is crazy, since the jacket just tore from being stretched violently.
Also, I wouldn't skimp out and get any of those Chinese leathers on ebay.
In the not so distant past I crash tested my Tourmaster something or another. The velcro at the wrist gave, resulting in the sleeve being pushed past my elbow. Hardy a scratch on the jacket, my elbow was another story. I'm curious how well it would have performed with a zipper/snap.
