Alpinestars VS JoeRocket- Sizing

Looking to get a new leather jacket for riding on my 919. I've been running a JR for a few years on my dualsport and liked it. In the JR and a Coretech too I've had to buy 2XL, not cause I'm big around but because I'm between 6'2" and 6'3" with long arms, dress shirt sleeves are sized 36/37 sleeve. The jackets are always kind of bulky around the body but I've to get them big so the sleeves and sometimes torso are long enough.

So, I've been looking pretty heavily at Alpinestars, but their three sizing systems are confusing to wade through. A US 2XL seems to fit right between a US 46 and 48 and Euro 56 and 58. Should I shoot for the 48 or 58 to ensure sleeve length will be good? No local dealers to try the stuff on either, closest dealer just shut their doors actually.

Thanks for the help.

Cant really comment what size you need but I thought the A-stars sleeves "short" too(it sat above my wrist watch when I had my arms down) if I got a size to fit snug on the torso. But it was more a function of the shape of the pre-curved arms. It wasn't much of an issue while sitting on the bike and riding with gauntlet style gloves though.

A-Stars are cut slim chest and torso, compared to Joe Rocket. I would go for the larger size.

I'm 5'10'', 225lbs and usually wear 32/33 sleeves on shirts, 38 pants, 44R suit jacket. (wow, that's a lot of .private. info...what we do for felow riders,,,)

Anyway, my A-Star jacket is an XL, fits nice an snug, with perfect sleeve lenght. I tape-measured the sleeve on mine for you, its 32/33 inches. My Joe Rocket is also an XL, but definitely fits looser and as longer sleeves, approx. 34inches.

Best solution would be to find a place to try one on, obviously, but barring that go for the larger size and if the sleeves are a bit short, buy some nice Veloce gauntlet gloves from Aquila, I hear great things about them.

Here's the A-Star size chart. Unfortunately, no sleeve lenghts mentionned.

Technical Apparel Size Charts | Alpinestars Inc.

Looking at that chart and how my jacket fits me, I'd say the 3XL is your best bet in A-Star...

I've been looking at the chart but was disappointed there was no sleeve length, that's the real clincher for me. Sounds like 2XL or possibly 3XL will be the way to go. I wish there was a dealer around I could try them on at, would make this so much easier.
