I think these are the last known photos before trade-in. The new owner contacted me last month and I referred him to WT but I don't believe he has surfaced here.

what up man, just wanted to congrat you on the 919! i have an 06 also that i got used in aug. last year with 2800 mi on it for $5300!!!! any who, i had done a lot of mods to mine if you have any questions as to where to find any things give me a buzz and ill try to help out. mine is more moded for street riding (lower bars, ghost paint, single side two bro's exhaust, ext.) so i dont know if thats what you want to do. the first thing i would invest in is frams sliders! those things have saved my but THREE times now. i have a bad habbit of falling over sitting still, mostly from stoping before my tire is straight. i got mine off of ebay, didnt have to do any drilling. they came with new bolts that went in place of the engin mount bolts...i think. im deployed right now so i cant go look. any way, congrats and lots of fun to be had (i got 9000 miles on mine sense aug. 08 and deploied in july this year)!!!

They were easy to install - nearly plug-n-play - except for having to hide the excess wiring that was inside the dome of the stock light. Not a big deal at all. I'm not particularly comfortable doing modifications that require wiring and electricity, but this one was a snap.
I liked the look and they were brighter than the stock light. They really set this bike apart from other 919's IMO.

Well, the dealer let me bring it home tonight for an overnight extended test drive I went out of my way today to ride twisties, back roads, city traffic, and highways all afternoon. I've owned small bikes, a Magna, an FZ1, a VN1500 and the ST13. Without a doubt, I had more fun on a motorcycle today than I've ever had. What a blast this bike is! I was doing 12' circles on my first attempts -- I bet this bike is GREAT for timed obstacle courses! So, I've called the insurance agent and told him to write it up.
I'll be taking the 919 back to the dealer tomorrow so they can register, inspect, do a 600 mile maintenance, oil, filter, wash, etc. Is there anything specifc to the bike that I should have them check?
I'll be turning in the ST tomorrow afternoon and bringing the 919 home for good. Happy times!
P.S. I'll be scouring the site for sliders. I've read about some that cause problems so any recommendations are appreciated. I also need to decide between a center stand and a rear stand. For anyone that has the center stand, does it decrease the lean angle capability at all?
Have the dealer remove the bar end weights and foot peg feelers and re install them using "blue lock tite"

Eddie, we shall dub thee "Ye Olde Post bringer Backer" since that post is almost four years old and that 919 is long gone, replaced by this:
Actually it was a kick to be reminded of that incredible test ride and how impressed I was with that bike. Thanks for the advice and the trip down memory lane.

Hmm, actually in some respects the 919 was like my ST1300, bulletproof, fun, but a bit bland. They do many things well, but no one thing great. And that's fine. It's what helps sell bikes. Then again, the 919 didn't last all that long in the Honda lineup...

And when they redesigned the Bandit and released the 1250 with ABS, liquid cooling, suspension improvements, and gobs of torque down low in the powerband, I had to take one for a ride. Not only was the torque intoxicating, it just fit me better than the 919 too.
I'm going into my third season with it now, and of the many bikes I've owned, this is one of the finest and certainly the best bang for the buck. Last year I installed some goodies from Holeshot Performance and now she makes 94 ft lbs and 132 HP, and most of that power is available below 5K in a very linear fashion. That's a perfect powerband for me for street riding. I'm more into acceleration than top speed.

Well, as long as this thread was brought back from the dead, and I feel horrible about reaching out to Ken (2 years ago?) and then dropping off the face of the earth, I thought I'd come clean. I am the "new" owner of Ken's 919.
I bought it as a Father's Day gift (for myself!) in 2008 and have loved every minute on it. Look to Ken's earlier posts for a list of most of the mods, though some did not come on the bike (maybe Ken can let me know which were removed/reverted?) Since then I've added Givi engine guards, LED front signals (along with a new flasher), Yoshimura TRS Carbon Fiber cans, and front rotors off a CBR600F4i to help with the brake squeal. I have another set as well as the stock rotors if anyone is interested, both have lots of life left.
Thanks to everyone on this site for all the great info and helpful tips. I've been trolling around since Ken told me about this place.
That would be great. I need to take a ride down to Keuka Lake and check out the lake house soon. If you'd like to ride along, I have some great routes down there and back.

Thanks a lot! I love the Yoshis, especially in CF, really looks good with the 919! Headlight credit goes to Ken, but I will take credit for buying the bike from the dealership with many of the mods done, that shows good taste right!?
I believe Ken sold them before turning it in. The dealership wasn't going to give him as much as he could get selling them. That's OK, I really like the CF TRS! (Of course that meant I had to pay for them!)
