The name's Karl,
I ride a '99 VFR. Previously owned two different beemers and totalled a Bandit. VFR is by far the nicest to ride motorcycle for "feels like an extension of my body" and "soul" factors.
I kind of like the feeling you get of sitting "in" a bike and becoming part of it as opposed to being perched on top just along for the ride.

Welcome fellow Wisconsinite. I also ride a 99 VFR and it's a great bike. Ironic however, I just put it up for sale today. Spend most of my time on the 600/900 Hornets these days. Adams, WI ? North of Lake Geneva or north of the Dells ?
Hey Karl!
Mike from Tomahawk here.... If you ever make it up my way, shoot me a PM and I'll show you around...If you ever run out of people to ride with,I'm always good to go.
Boy, just browsing around it sure seems like lots of guys on this forum have Hornets, both the 599 and 919 version.
Didn't you guys read the reviews saying that "Honda are really good motorcycles but have no character and are bland....etc, etc, ad nauseum"?
I know I myself get really tired of the magazines, especially the American ones, knocking Honda's motorcycles for no other reason than they do exactly what they're supposed to without breaking or having any character flaws. You'd think that's be a good thing. Just my .02
Although as anyone with a VFR knows, the Achilles heel of the V-4 honda's seems to have been a rectifier regulator designed by Lucas himself. I was left stranded in some farmer's driveway near Richland Center last year with that one. Then to add insult to injury I had to ride "bitch" on the back of my buddy's FJR1300, which could quite possibly have the most uncomfortable passenger seat ever fixed to a motorcycle...... Fortunately there are aftermarket regulators and beefed up harnesses which I installed. That kind of "character" I could have done without.
Karl with a K. Reinke for a last name. If you're not German, the Pope aint Catholic.
Willkommen mein freund.
Love 99 VFRs.
Technically yes I am German*...but there's about 1/8th Norske and a 1/16th Yiddish in there too.
*When my ancestors came over in the early 1800'a no one really knows where the border exactly was at the time because things were so f*cked up over there. Yes officially I am German but a two year mistake plus or minus could mean I'm a Pollack.
Katooms rock. The Super D is awesome. After reading an article about doing a track day in TWO magazine on the 690 thumper, I'd probably be more inclined to take the "less is more" approach. Those little Dukes are supposed to be the most fun you can have on two wheels with your clothes on. I recall they went to a track and held their own against much bigger sport bikes because you could reel 'em back in and late-late-late brake in the corners.
