Let me start by saying what an awesome site WT is! For the past week I have been trolling the threads, finding great info/ideas and drooling over some of the 919s!
My name is Nate and I live in OZ, Melbourne to be precise. I'm excited as hell to be checking out and test riding a 919 tomorrow, I haven't even thrown my leg over one. My last bike was a Kawaka Ninja 250, please dont flame me haha. However about a three weeks ago is came off second best after being rear-ended at a stop by an SUV. From new I put 7500 kms on it, only about 4600 miles for you folks in old measure. Most of this was commuting, I did hit one long trip but it certainly wasn't ideal (Im 6ft and about 82kgs 180lbs). Anyway not to get off point I simply wanted to extend a welcome to a fantastic site.
welcome, and dont fret about owning a ninja 250! they're great bikes and i'd own another one in a heart beat. anyone that laughs at someone for owning/riding a ninja 250 has insecurity issues to say in the least!
that lil 250 was some of the most fun i've had on a bike. just so light and nimble throughout the twisties. anyways, welcome to the site!
Thanks heaps guys for making me feel welcome! The only 'reservation' I have about the Hornet is the fact I know I will be obsessed with its ease of customization and will definitely want to spend more $$$ but that's the fun of it!
And thanks Pvster. Being my first bike it will be sorely missed, there is a connection with your first two wheels I cant explain! I bought her brand new and I added Two Bros CF slip on, tinted screen and fender eliminator. I dont have a car, four wheels bores me and the rain doesnt worry me, so it really was my baby. However I simply ogle over the pics of the Hornet Im testing tomorrow and any sadness is squashed by excitement! *grinning ear to ear*
Welcome to the site Nate! As our friend with the 10 week riding season said Two wheels is Two Wheels doesn't matter what you ride. 919/Hornet riders just tend to "swarm" here is larger numbers than other sites. We do have a lot of riders from the land of OZ one of them post lots of videos of his rides. I hope you enjoy your test ride tomorrow and you make the best decision of your life and buy the 919!!

Welcome my southern brother from anutha mutha! I too began with a Ninja 250. Next was the 9er. Couldn't have made a better (potential) choice! Good luck with purchase and as always, pics if ya get her!
Well guys I checked it out, took it for a test ride and instantly fell in love!!! I'm now the proud new owner of a 919! I'll post a pic as soon as I get one!

That's the one thing I wish I could get done is the engine. Everything else is black, lol...
Nice bike mate.
Im in NSW with the hornet aswell. didnt get the blacked out engine though so you have a real keeper. If you feel like doing any exhaust i May be selling my staintunes to upgrade to yoshis soon.
Hi mjacks,
It's always great to meet someone from OZ! I'll let you know if I'm even heading through to meet up for a ride. I have a lot or family in Northern NSW (ballina/Lismore). I'm definitely looking to get a nice exhaust on the 919. I'm looking for something on the cost effective side of the scale but. Im a uni student and had to drop $500 on a new set of tread today.
Welcome to the site! I went from a Ninja 250 to my ZRX 1100, I think you'll do fine! Just respect the powah! Oh and hi from a fellow Aussie (now transplanted and living in the US).
Yeah mate no worries. will let you know, but if you head sydney way we have lots of rides. last thursday i was driving but saw the thursday night rides had about 80 or so bikes about.
