Cool Wisconsin meetup?

So, since I'm newish here I'm not sure if you guys ride together on occasion already or not but it would be awesome to meet some more rider peeps in the great Dairy State.

Anyone interested?

Over on beginnerbikers we've been talking about meeting up for YEARS but nobody can decide on a particular weekend....lame.

Fall is just around the corner and I have yet to do any major roadtrips so I'd be willing to travel.

Any suggestions?

So much for rockin' the Great Lakes region! LOL!

Can I ask one thing?? Can we stop in Memphis for some BBQ on our way down??

Sounds like fun. What the heck, I'm in! ;D

756 miles to graceland, I don't have a ton of money but I can do a short trip up there if youre down. We should start a new graceland thread and see if we can wrangle up some of these yahoos.

I would be up for the day ride or even an overnighter up in sconsin. It would have to be later this fall, I'll be doing the 40 mile fat tire fest up in Hayward in September...busy till then.

Yes to this too!

Have you ever been to Delaney's Junkyard?? It's not what it sounds like, LOL!

That might be a day trip for you, not sure where exactly you are but that's a great MC destination!

Rez, I think for things to work out, you have to get a route planned up first. Get a list of people who are in WI or otherwise interested, and then throw out a couple weekends and see who is game. Say August 28th, September 4th and September 11th. Meet up in Shawano maybe. Take 47 North through the res, head East on M in Neopit over to 55. Take that north up to Crandon or find a nice route through the Nicolet forest. Get to Eagle River somehow, head a little west, then back south to the start point. Have a couple stops planned out for chow and gas. Hell, I might even be game for that. About a 4 hour ride me to get to Shawano though.

A specific day posted would help the ride along....Would love to do a northern trip. Would rather be the follower on this one rather than the planner.

Good, finish the route and we'll follow you. Do you know a good place in Shawano to meet up? Big gas station parking lot or something? Lets plan for Saturday September 4th. How does that sound?

Rez, 2000TJ, Lemonhead, 97af, mtbkrman, you guys up for that? Anyone else?

I'm pretty sure I can talk another WT member into coming too, Mexj90somethingwhatever, or as I like to call him, Joel will most likely be interested as well.

Oh, you get that feeling do ya??

So anyway, still sounds good to me. My only concern is that if I lead, me and my big phat v twin cruiser will slow all you 919's down. I'm already under fire for that offense but I'm saying any names.

People still interested? Haven't heard back from a PM I sent to Rez. My understanding of the plan is to meetup at a gas station or whatever in Shawano, then head up 47/55 to Crandon, up to Eagle River somehow for chow and gas, then west and then back south. Still trying to firm up the route.

I'm sorry I can't speak to everything that's been mentioned above but I have a ball rolling which has me departing Kenosha tomorrow morning before the sun comes up and not getting home until sundown.

I just left a voice mail for LemonHead trying to track him down.

Proposed route

Here is my first go at a proposed route for September 4th. I don't know road conditions so tried to stay on major roads and resist the call of the side road twisty. If anyone has better ideas fire away. Typed it local so everyone will understand the directions.

Start - Shawano
47 nort to M (Neopit)
M east to 55
55 nort to 32 (Crandon on the way for a stop)
32 nort to Eagle River (Chow time, gas)
70 east to 139
139 sout to 8
8 sout to 32
32 sout to AA
AA to M
M to 55/47
55/47 back to Shawano

It's confirmed LH and I will be heading West in the early AM from Kenosha, possibly heading to Madison or Monroe as a hopping off point into the twistier offerings of this great state. If anyone is interested PM me and I'll reply with my cell number.
