relay across america...

a question for my fellow 919 riders. How do you guys feel about a friendly relay ride...

Someone either out west or east, picks up a small item, like a stuffed wood-chuck or something easily carried, and they ride with it to meet another member, and hand it off, then they ride to meet up with another member, hand it off and so forth. What do you guys think? Sounds like a good bit of 919 fun to me,

Oh, and make sure a picture is taken at each exchange

We had one in our house on the kitchen counter for at least a couple years that would've been perfect - only like 3 inches tall... we threw it away about a month ago because we were trying to de-clutter for a house remodel project.

I like the idea
I know I've got a few options for hand-off possibilities... I'd be willing to participate if timing worked out.

Google must have a way to put a pushpin on the USA map; each participant could put a pushpin in, and we could visually get an idea of how it might work.

Oh, in.

I registered my address as WristTwisters Relay as a Business... maybe this will help, as far as timing, whenever the two parties completing the hand off can get together, that's probably how the time would work out, if you have to hold it for a week, no big deal

#4 added. I believe I have a stuffed monkey floating around somewhere that was purchased with the intent of having him ride bitch. Well, I never got around to attaching him to the bike. I'll see if I can't dig it up.

Right on top of Schrock, I don't think this relay is going to be a straight line

Can someone give a brief explanation of how you added a pin?

Do you have to have a google account?
What do you press where?

This.

Just make sure you don't use the edit button directly over the map to the right side. That will put your pin out to everyone in googleland, which may be awkward if you set your address as an adult entertainment site

1. click on the link in post #8
(you must be logged into WT for it to work, but don't have to be logged in to Google)

2. click on the "Edit" button in the left pane above the list of current members

3. navigate to your location on the map

4. click on the push pin tool, then click on the map where you want to place it.

5. a pop-up will be displayed, enter you screen name and click OK to close the pop-up

6. back over on the left pane, click "save" button.

I don't think this is a "when" kind of thing, rather a "whenever."

i.e., if Bob in New York has the Trophy Whale Penis and is going to South Carolina in July, Ted from South Carolina could meet up and take the Trophy.
Perhaps it takes Ted until August before he heads out to meet Mark in Georgia. The idea is the Whale Penis is slowly making it's way across the USA, perhaps photographed at interesting landmark(s) where you live.

I found the monkey, but so far everyone is too remote for me to possibly ride to them, or even half way. Come on TX brethren, chip in!

It's a Woot monkey. We can call him Spanky, if you like. Keys not included, I still need to get back home.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Only guessing though, but I could be wrong as Schrock posted after Pvster.

My guess is Pvster changed Schrocks pin in the Library with the Rope.
