BC, Alberta swarm 2011

I'm thinking about maybe going for a ride in the mountains this week-end. August 13-14 Anyone else?

Rickard
McRomo
Z1-Jockey

Maybe we could meet with Wallybanger and other people from the area.

Ya I see no problem with you crashing at my place. Come with us Mcromo. You going to be around on the week-end Wallybanger?

I just heard from Z1. Sounds like he's in if we are back for Monday.

It's a gong show for all of August for me and the family.
Our daughter and grandson from England are here.
My Dad arrives tomorrow from Ontario for a visit.
I just did Crows Nest today with a friend from Vancouver.
I have a track day tomorrow.
I can't duck out this weekend, no way.
BUT I'd love to meet up with you guys on Friday night if that's OK.

We haven't talked routes yet. You want to meet us part way out. I was thinking the way we went last year on the ferries. Just let us know where you want to meet and we can plan from there.

We had a beautiful week-end, sunshine, 30-35C, awesome
roads. Our trip started out in Calgary saturday morning, Rickard,
R1 molestor and me left around 8 and headed west. We got
stuck in a construction zone, 45 mins at 10 km/h. Then Rickard
ran out of gas, 4 km's later R1 ran out of gas and then I ran out
of gas in the gas-station's driveway.

Later we met with Z1-Jockey, had supper and went a little bit further
before stopping for the night.

Sunday morning was the best part of the trip, hwy 6 is one of the
best road I've ever been on with the bike. Twisties, very little traffic,
ferries, forest and nice pavement. I recommend Hwy 6 to everybody.

I think this is an accurate map of the trip ...

LINK-> To Larger Map

You guys left Calgary @ 8am Saturday. I got back 10pm Sunday. About 38 hrs Calgary to Calgary?

Excellent trip! Highway 6 should definitely be part of next years trip again.

Sounds like you guys had a blast.
Gotta laugh at the dry gas tanks.
T81 gets the prize for stalling dry at the gas station driveway. I had that happen once before, on my Norton - wow, that was a long time ago, 1973 to be exact.

Hwy 6 is a must ride again road. The dry gas tanks sucked. Literally. Good thing I had that syphon hose in my bag of tricks.

I didn't get too many pictures this trip, but here they are:

Figured I may as well take a picture while I wait for gas.
103_0167.jpg
Z1-Jockey on the move.
103_0168.jpg
Couple of shots of molestR1. Great name we came up with for him.
103_0169.jpg
103_0170.jpg
Mr.T81 hangin' out.
103_0171.jpg
This is a shot of molesteR1, in the background you can see Z1-Jockey coming.
103_0172.jpg
Z1-Jockey up close.
103_0173.jpg
These next two are of Mr.T81 on the same strech of road. Directly behind where I am standing is a 20 deep ravine with a few trees, lots of rocks and a river. No guard rails here folks. some places on this road there is no shoulder, 12" of gravel, then ravine or trees. Amazing. If you ride this road and don't scare yourself at least once, you aren't riding hard enough.

Sweet video. Youo got some excellent pictures on the trip. You need to talk your S.O. into moving down here. Then we would have lots of ride time.

S.O. significant other? She would move pretty much anywhere anytime, she
hates Edmonton. I might have to make the move in the near future...
