Thumbs up lil'ol'hornets are the bee's knees!

I started my riding career on a lil'ol'chewfiddy hornet, has a lovely high revving scream ... needs to hit 4K revs before it even thinks of moving! I've taken my one around the clock and it still pulls like the day I bought him (yeah, it's a male nomenclature).

Been modded quite a bit, twin cans, streetfighter headlights and rear hugger (it's in my signature picture). 180 rear tyre just gives a grunty look to the lil'fella and is surprising agile and quick. As stated before, people who aren't used to them often mistake them for their six hundy counterpart.

I still ride my 250 and enjoy it immensely, this is quite a selfless little beasty since it's helped a lot of learners get their licences and also as a loaner to close mates who need a spare bike to help them out of a jam every now and then!

When the day comes I have to retire the lil'fella - I'll mount it as a 1:1 scale model to admire! (or ... just exchange the motor for another bulletproof honda hornet engine and go around the clock again ... and again!)

Went to install a current 1000RR starter switch and realized that the friggin throttle cables are also housed in the OEM starter switch pod... Not to be deterred I had a spare HRC Quick-Turn laying in a drawer so within the hour I had both installed and working.

I've finally got around to posting up some piccies of my 1st bike ... my lil'ol'hornet (affectionately known as "pete", yeah yeah it's a guy bike - bite me~!)

This was the day he arrived home and on a trailer - I was such a newbie then, I would have crashed it riding it back from the twisties where he lived (he has been back many times there now!)

Done 104000km and still going as strong as the day I got him. Two changes of spark plugs, umpteen pairs of Diablos and a lot of go-gas put through!

Those little rascals are real nice, my boy is wanting one of those little ninjas but it would be cool to have the hornet model with duel headlights.
The Ninja 250 R models sell used for about 3 G's right now with well less than a grand on the odometer.
The older models could be stripped down and be made into a cool cafe racer! Seen 'em on CL for around $600 with 3000 miles on the clock. I've always been told those screaming little motors are practically bulletproof.
Sounds like a project in the planning, thanks fella's for showing us y'alls cool light rides.

Those CBR250RR's have an 18,000 rpm redline. For that reason alone I want one.

The CB250 hornet is a measily 16,000. Tuned for torque tractor motor.
