A local dealer has a white 848 demo and they said I could ride it for an hour.

It has been waiting for me and due to work, weather, or whatever, I have yet to get over there and ride it. I fail.

this months Motorcyclist has a write up... gave it a pretty good review.
pretty much same ergos as the 1098, but more streetwise. better power/weight than a 999!!!

Local dealer has both 1098 in red & 848 in white... come on lotto ticket!!!

I'm going to wait for the 849 that's sure to come out later

Ducati is so predictable.

Though I have tremendous wood for the 1098, I would rather throw the 848 around the track.

Yeah I'm very happy, because you are gonna fall in love with it,
then negotiate a nation wide group buy for us all at half off!

I'm curious to see how this thing fairs out in the racing scene. pretty sure its considered a Middleweight bike, so it will run with the 600's. But its got close to 130hp stock!

I may be wrong, but I thought that is what I read.

You know I will... If I could get 4-5 other people serious in buying one I bet I could get $3000-$4000 off each bike.

Local shop here has 2 of em' 1 for a Demo. Haven't ridden it yet but I may take her out for a spin.

Couple guys will be racing them up here this year. They are putting out really good #'s and should make a great street bike as well.

Get yer ass on down to the dealer and buy it already!

I just got off the phone with Sam at Ducati Milwaukee. He has a red one and a white one in the showroom... both sold. He said they are sold out for the year already and if I want one they would have to order it. He suggested I come down to check them out soon as(like I said) they are already sold.

He also said he has heard that the prices will be going up already for 2009 by $1000. He's also a salesman for motorcycles in the winter so I'm sure he'll be saying a lot of stuff.

I haven't been this excited over a bike since the Triumph Daytona 675! (I'm more of V engine guy though[RC-51, NSR250])

Yay.

Oh yeah, I forgot that MidWest is interested and from Milwaukee. Must double my efforts to get there first!

The cool thing about buying a bike is that you're out like $10000 or whatever... you buy a car and you're out like 50-60 grand. Why don't have more toys?!

That sounds like the most fun you can have with your cloths on.
Why do they even include the front wheel, it won't stay on the ground.

Sorry to hear Corse Ducatti already has them sold. I am unsure of any other Duc dealers in WI.

There aren't any. There is one in Rochester,MN though, and that's hardly further than Milwaukee from me. I haven't spoken with them, yet.

Here you go, they have a few in stock:

http://valleymotorsports.com/

This use to be the "stealer" that I was very loyal. I've bought several bikes from them, but on my last purchase they didn't make me feel right. I brought it up to the owner and he just didn't care. He became all about the money! So, I no longer frequent them.

But, I have to say. He always has the bikes. He's always had the latest Bimoto's when no else did. He's always got the Duc's that no one else gets. He's got an absolutely beautiful black 1098S right now. Oh, let's not forget the RR!
