And please put on that Super Star White A* suit and go roll around on the drive way. Nothing like putting a giant bullseye on you that screams... LOOK AT ME! I bet you have matching boots and gloves!
I noticed your back tire starts to spin a little when reving it. Is that normal or is the clutch too tight? Never reved a bike while on a stand to see if that is normal.
Negative... I could give you a million reasons why but racing has gone cold. This year will be left to Trackdayz and Horrasing new riders... Should be just as much fun
Not much progress was made this weekend. One step forward and two steps back.
My thanks to Brevity for his offer to help bring the SV back. I found out that the kill switch I bought off Ebay does not fit my bike. It is from a 1st gen SV which used an 8-pin connector. The 2nd gen bikes (mine) use a 10-pin connector. The two additional wires on the new connector are apparently for the ignition and are of a larger diameter AWG.
I won't lie. I've begun to think I can sell it, cut my losses and buy another dual-sport for the wife. Some club racer could do it up right. My mind just seems defeated after crashing out of the first race weekend.
I get much more joy out of looking forward to the trip out West in June than my next race. If I knew I could recoup the payoff of the loan, I would probably sell it tomorrow.
You need to pull the aftermarket stuff off and sell it to Johnny. He'll be alot more competitive in LWT than he can be in the 600 classes.
Get the subframe boss welded and put the bike back to stock. You'll get alot more money out of it in street trim. We TOLD you to keep the oem parts, so it should be a matter of a weekend to get it ready to sell.
The next time you decide you wanna try your hand at racing. Go buy your street bike and bring it to my place.
Give me $4k, and I'll kick you in the nuts and push your new bike over for you

Why don't you kiss my ass and worry about your own shiit. Johnny can buy his own stuff, he got the SV at a steal anyway.
So James, have you decided your plan of attack? To race or not to race, that is the question.
I've sworn off any more races until I get the SV back in running condition. Money is very tight right now and the bike really need to be evaluated by a company such as GMD computrack/ Which, as we know = $$$$$$$.
If I do race, fine, if I don't it's fine as well. Crashing out of the first race weekend and forking over money for a rebuild is very disconcerting and sucks the wind right out of the sails. Even if I get it to run, I still need to find an aluminum welder with motorcycle frame experience.
I know a great aluminum welder up in my neck of the woods, but that's not going to help much, sorry.
I hear ya on the racing part, kinda why I stopped doing it in the dirt. Fixing parts got a little crazy after awhile and physical body parts even more so! Plus it takes longer to heal up and missing work doesn't add $$$ to the pot.
