TuonoR6, Ridge, 2ohno, and anyone else with Aprilia V-twin experience.
Any tips, besides saddle time, on down-shifting techniques with the Mille?
The biggest problem I'm having with this beast.
I'm not liking the feel of the clutch and/or the lever.
What about it dont you like ? It is a diffrent world when compared to the cable systems, but, you will get used to it - Ive read that alot of Ducati riders are switching out thier slave cyclinders for soem AM ones and that is supposed to give a lighter lever feel - Ive yet to try it , but, Im willing to give it a go, once I find one !
The only tip Ive got is the bleeding thing like Tr6 suggested, I have to replace mine pretty regualrly, just baceause I dont like dirty looking fluid - I have also read about clutchless upshifts, Im not sure if youve tried this technique or not, but, the twins seems to really like it ( Jamie told me about doing in with a twin, he sued it for years on the Ducaits he rode , if you do it right it wont hurt anything, or at least thats what Ive been told ), it keeps the motor reving where it happy rather than giving a momentary idle time - I only use this style on the track and it has seemed to help -

Yeah, most of my upshifts on the track were clutchless.
I'm just having a hard time downshifting smoothly because of the clutch. But part of the problem could be the fact that I'm not using the rear brake going into the turns.

With the slipper you don't have to worry about being as smooth. Don't rev match cause the slipper works on vacuum pressure. Regular flushing and bleeding improves the feel. Alot people do upgrade to evo slave cylinder. I just some clip-ons on sale can't remember where. They were like less 100.00 I'll have to find the site.
The TCM kit is out of inventory. That was an old page from a google search. I kind of suspected it. Oh, well. Shouldn't have waited this long; the ones on ebay that Phil found are gone.
2ohno, here's the new list for the Tuono: clip-ons, gp shift, Evo clutch slave... For now.
Phil, let me know if you find the clip-ons.
I called AF1 yesterday. So, the clip-ons have a clearance issue with the fairing. Something about adding to the steering locks (stoppers? Not sure what they're called).
Phil and 2ohno, hope you don't hate me for this, I already hate myself for not making enough time for her. Yup, thinking about letting her go to a better home, to someone that will have time to appreciate her beauty and superb handling.
I've been averaging about a day per month, the rest of the time she just sits collecting dust. It's only been a couple of days since I came to this decision, and it was painful, especially today. I took her out for a ride and pushed her around a bit (what's up with the explosion when it hits the rev-limiter hard ), maaan, lucky I made it back home with no tickets.
Should move real quick, all I have to do is take her to the track and put a 4 sale sign on her and
What I paid for it before shipping, 6500. And not a penny less...
It cost me 735 for shipping + 100 for insurance.
This bike is set up for the track. LE re-worked forks and Penske triple clicker, Clarkie tuned engine (K&N, Evo velocity stacks, PC3 with custom Clarkie map, Akro slip-on), Zero Gravity windscreen, CF front fender, CF heel guards, CF chain guard, TCM rearsets, Rhinomoto front and rear axle sliders, and some other stuff...
I changed the defective starter relay and added 2nd Gen Tuono mirrors.
I told the shop neighbor about it when he was checking it out, and he already has dibs on it...
EDIT: The bike was recently serviced and has 85% on Pirelli DC3s.

I'm the same height. Never had much problem maybe my legs are longer. I noticed when I dropped the forks down to the 4 th line much easier to touch the ground.
