Buying your enemies, or in this case competition, is nothing new. Yamaha couldn't beat Rossi, so they got him. Honda couldn't beat Rossi, so now they got the technical side.
It will be interesting to see if Honda makes the supplier switch for the electronics.

Magnetti Marelli has been working on Electronics for a long time now and its the one to get if you want to win. Honda has just rested on their Laurels for to damn long and because of their mentality and philosophy (using their Inhouse crap... ie: Showa & Electronics) is that they have been taken the beat down... well, that and the fact that Pedrosa has not done shiit for them.
If Honda allows those guys to work on the electronics with MM, you will see a change in Pedrosa next year. I am not saying he will win it, NO, but he sure will be in the thick of things... he is no slouch (he just looses his balls from time to time... much like XX and barton do!)
I've yet to own a British car but I've punished myself several time with Italian ones. Good to hear there are some Italian engineers that have finally figured out sometimes function before form is the right way to go, especially in racing applications!

Ask Ferrari what they think about MM. NO, never mind... ask Ducati
Alfa & Aprilia may not use MM electronics and yes, most Italian Car Manufacturers have shiitty electronics and that has always been a problem with them.
Now, being said that, MM is a pure racing electronic system so it may not be for everyone
