The wobbles

Posted 05-13-2009 at 01:25 AM by beefsalad

I'm hoping I have found the cause of my wobbles. Rear tire is out of alignment by 1/2 a notch or so. I just have to stop riding long enough to fix it. Now that I think about it, rain is in the forecast for the near future so I think my chance is coming up soon. Now if I can find my manual I'll be in good shape!

road2's are waiting for me at cycle gear.

I called one of the local dealerships to check their pricing. If they install it (as in you drop the bike off), you get a 50% discount on the tires. If you drop the tires off you only get a 25% discount. They are reaaaaaaaly proud of their road2s, "regular price" is $500+some change, then add the install price. With the discount, the tires are still about $120 more than cyclegear.

Woop! New tires have taken care of those wobbles. While I had it all apart I changed to the 17t sprocket that Relic11 hooked me up with. I also cleaned and lubed the chain. While it looks better, the tiny bit of rust is driving me nuts. If I wasn't trying to budget for a pair of vacation in the next few months, I'd have one on order. Oh well, as long as I'm riding I wont see it and it can't bother me!

Thanks for the tips/advice/parts and reading all!
